Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Filer.pk (“Filer.pk”, “we”, “us”). They govern your access to and use of our website, free tools, and account features (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Filer.pk is — and is not

Filer.pk is an independent tool that helps you understand Pakistani income tax and prepare a filing-ready summary of your own figures. It performs calculations and organises the information you provide.

  • We do not file your return. Filer.pk does not submit anything to FBR or IRIS on your behalf and has no access to your IRIS account. Filing your return remains your responsibility.
  • We are not affiliated with FBR. Filer.pk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) or IRIS.
  • We do not provide professional advice. The Service gives estimates and general information only. It is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in connection with your own tax affairs (or those you are authorised to handle).

3. Your account

  • You must provide an accurate email address and verify it. You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure, and for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
  • One account is for one person. Do not share your login or impersonate anyone else.

4. Your responsibilities and accuracy

The Service is only as accurate as the information you enter. You are responsible for the figures, documents, and details you provide, and for reviewing every result.

  • Tax rates, slabs, thresholds, and deadlines change. While we work to keep our tax configuration current and correct, you must verify all numbers with FBR/IRIS or a qualified professional before you file.
  • Any summary, calculation, or estimate Filer.pk produces is a draft aid — the final return you submit, and its correctness, are your responsibility.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to break any law or to file false or fraudulent information;
  • attempt to access other users' data, probe or breach our security, or disrupt the Service;
  • copy, scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
  • upload malicious code or content you have no right to share.

6. Free tools and fees

The public tools (such as the calculator, slab tables, deadline, and guides) are free to use and require no account. Account features are currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we will make the pricing and terms clear before you are charged, and your continued use of a paid feature will be subject to those terms.

7. Your data

Our handling of your personal and financial information is described in our Privacy & consent policy, which forms part of these Terms. You retain ownership of the information you provide; you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to operate the Service for you.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, text, and branding — is owned by Filer.pk and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own tax affairs. The content you create and upload remains yours.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may perform maintenance that causes temporary downtime, without liability to you.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any estimate or calculation will match your final assessed liability. Estimates and general information only — not tax, legal, or financial advice. Filer.pk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the FBR, and does not file your return on IRIS. Verify with FBR/IRIS or a qualified professional before filing.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Filer.pk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, tax penalties, surcharges, or interest, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from reliance on any estimate it produces. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (which, for free features, is zero).

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Filer.pk harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or the information you submit, including any return you file.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will continue to apply.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan will have jurisdiction over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at mtahirkaam@gmail.com and give us a reasonable chance to resolve the matter in good faith. Most issues can be sorted out this way.
